How to Attach a Dishwasher to a Quartz Countertop

4 Easy Ways To Attach/Install The Dishwasher Under The Quartz Countertop

If the user has a quartz countertop, then the dishwasher cannot be screwed to the top directly instead of it attach the dishwasher under the quartz countertop. The four easy ways to attach or install the dishwasher under the quartz countertop are as follows:

Way 1: Dishwasher Hookup

Regardless of the type of counter, follow the same protocol to attach the dishwasher. It is a good idea to perform a test fit of the dishwasher underneath the counter to ensure that it fits properly. Now hook up all the drainpipe as well as the air gap to the discharge pump that is on the dishwasher, run the pipe of the drain into the kitchen sink and then simply connect it either to the P-trap or to the garbage disposal. Now fix the water supply lines with the dishwasher, If needed then drill holes in the cabinet to get the access of the valves. At last, wire the dishwasher with the electrical box that is at the back of the dishwasher's opening, also make sure that the appropriate breaker has been switched off.

Way 2: Mounting To A Plywood Support

Quartz countertops are regarded as the hard as well as the durable counters that are made from 90 percent quartz which is mixed with a resin. They can be installed directly on top of the kitchen cabinets, or the thinner quartz counter can be easily mounted on the top of a piece of plywood, having a built-up edge that is extending towards down to hide the plywood's edge. In such cases, there is plywood into the dishwasher opening. Then simply screw the mounting clips that are for the dishwasher on this plywood. It is highly advisable not to screw it deeper more than one inch, as it has the risk of cracking the quartz top.

Way 3: Attach A Mounting Strip

If in case the quartz counter does not have plywood support and the dishwasher has some space between its top and the counter, that time the user can consider installing a wood strip on the counter for the dishwasher so that it can attach to. Simply cut a strip of the hardwood, like one-by-two, exactly to the length of the opening of the dishwasher. Take a silicone adhesive for attaching the strip with the quartz, attach just above the clips. In order to get the mounting clips at a proper level simply adjust the feet on the dishwasher, adjust using the strip as well as screw the dishwasher into the wood. Again not screw too far as it can crack the quartz.

Way 4: Attach To The Cabinets

If there is no plywood below the quartz and there is also no additional area needed for a mounting strip, that time install the side-cabinet mounting clips to the dishwasher. These kinds of clips are usually sold by the dishwasher manufacturers. They attach to the sides of the dishwasher, behind the door. Once in place, screw the top and the open end of the clips with the interior walls of the kitchen cabinets. This will help to hold the dishwasher in place without disturbing or hitting the quartz counter that is above it.
